Utahn Dia Frampton moved into the finals of the hit NBC singing competition "The Voice" — but it was close. After the eight semifinalists performed on Tuesday, each of the four pairs of contestants received points from their coach/judge. That total was added to 100 points assigned as a percentage of viewers' votes.

Frampton's coach/judge, country music star Blake Shelton, took the easy way out by splitting his 100 points between her and Xenia Martinez.

"I believe in them both so much and I love them. I mean, I really do," Shelton said. "You can't put a score on that. You can't put a number on that."

Unless, maybe, you remember that's your job as both a coach and a judge in this competition.Frampton squeaked through by winning 56 of the 100 points from the viewers.

"I'm just so grateful for this opportunity," said Frampton, fighting back tears. In the other results from Wednesday's episode:

• Beverly McClellan will represent Christina Aguilera's team. Like Shelton, Aguilera wimped out and split her points 50-50, handing the decision to viewers. And the viewers gave McClellan a 107-93 win.• Vicci Martinez will represent Cee Lo Green's team in the finals. Green gave Nakia the edge 51-49, but said if he had to do it over again he, too, would have made it 50-50. Viewers were far more willing to choose and Martinez ended up winning in a landslide,124-76.• Javier Colon will represent Adam Levine's team. Unlike his fellow judges/coaches, Levin actually made a decision and scored it 65-35 for Colon over Casey Weston — albeit because Colon is older and will have fewer chances than 18-year-old Weston. The viewers' votes made it 138-62.

The four finalist will perform on "The Voice" on Tuesday at 8 p.m. on NBC/Ch. 5. The winner will be declared on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The winner will receive a $100,000 prize and a recording contract.
