Chris Matthews profiles the 42nd president of the United States in President of the World: The Bill Clinton Phenomenon (8 p.m., MSNBC). It's a behind-the-scenes journey with Clinton. Matthews travels with him from the Clinton Global Initiative in New York City to Ireland, where the MSNBC personality sat down for a one-on-one interview with the former president.

The hour isn't about the Clinton Administration, it's about what he's done since leaving office - his ongoing work as a humanitarian and diplomat.

In addition to interviewing Clinton, Matthews also talked to his friends Tony Blair, Terry McAuliffe, John Podesta, Mary Steenburgen and Kevin Spacey.
