After noticing more stillbirths and newborn deaths in Vernal, a midwife wondered if the premature deaths could be linked to the air pollution caused by the growth of oil and gas drilling in the area. Donna Young's inquiry has caught the attention of the local health department, state public health experts and environmental activists.

On Monday at 12:15 p.m., Dr. Brian Moench of Utah Physicians for a Healthy Environment, Sam LeFevre of the Utah Department of Health and Tribune health reporter Kirsten Stewart join Jennifer Napier-Pearce to talk about the troubling observations and how researchers will set out to determine if the deaths are the result of pollution exposure, another cause or coincidence.
