The Sundance Film Festival audience at the Library Center Theatre on Sunday came thisclose to hearing an impromptu set from the hottest stand-up comic in America.
At the premiere screening of the comedy "In a World…," a technical glitch popped up in the projection booth just before the movie started. When it appeared that it might take a minute, the film's writer-director-star, Lake Bell, had an idea.
"Hey, Tig, can you do five?" Bell shouted to comedian Tig Notaro, who appears in the film and was sitting a few rows behind Bell.
After a pause, a reluctant-sounding Notaro yelled back, "Somebody get me a mic."
Just as someone did get a mic to her, though, the projection problems were solved and the movie started.
