The cast of "Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes," including Kaya Scodelario, second from right.
A taste of Sundance Fame

Twenty-year-old Kaya Scodelario has the most to gain from the U.S. Dramatic competition film, "Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes" if it becomes a hit. It premiered Friday to a fairly enthusiastic response from the audience. It could be a break-out movie for the young actress, even though I thought it was somewhat overwrought (read my short review here). And she’s just now getting a taste of what could be future fame. Standing in front of the crowd, which included Ringo Starr of all people, Scodelario had a tough time soaking it in. Visibly shaken on the stage (third from the right in the picture above) while grasping a microphone, she blurted out: "I need a drink and a cigarette and a cry. Right now, I don’t know what’s happening. I shouldn’t be here." If the movie’s a hit, she’ll just have to get used to it.
