You could call Chris Crocker an "American original." Or just a weirdo with a webcam.
Crocker is the Tennessee kid who has poured his heart out in a series of YouTube blog posts -- most infamously the one in which his concern over singer Britney Spears' paparazzi plight led him to wail "Leave Britney alone!"
In the documentary "Me at the Zoo," directors Valerie Veatch and Christ Moukarbel chronicle Crocker's rise to prominence, the fallout over his viral video, and the deeper messages of instant fame and modern media.
The movie debuts in the U.S. Documentary competition of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.
