Deals have been made to purchase "My Idiot Brother" and "Buck."

On Saturday, Weinstein Company (TWC) acquired domestic rights to Jesse Peretz's new film "My Idiot Brother," which had its world premiere Saturday at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. The company also acquired distribution rights for the U.K., Germany, France and Japan. On Sunday, the new label, Sundance Selects, purchased the North American rights to the movie, "Buck."

The film, which is playing in the U.S. Documentary Competition section at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, centers around Buck Brannaman, who inspired "The Horse Whisperer" novel and film. It was directed by Cindy Meehl and produced by Julie Goldman.
