The short documentary "Skateistan: To Live and Skate Kabul" takes a look at youth culture in Afghanistan, where the kids are in some ways not much different than kids anywhere.

As this report in The National says, "Skateistan" takes us to an indoor skateboarding park in Kabul, where the kids practice their moves as a way to escape the problems of living in a war-torn city.

And the short, which will be seen at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, has a corporate connection: It's backed by Diesel Jeans.
