Robbie Rogers was back with a team Tuesday for the first time since he announced that he was gay and stepped away from professional soccer earlier this year.

The U.S. international trained with the Los Angeles Galaxy at the Home Depot Center. And, according to Galaxy insider Adam Serrano, one of the team's biggest names hopes Rogers will return to Major League Soccer and stay in L.A.

"It was fun to play with him. He's been out awhile so it's going to take him awhile to get back into it and he would admit that," Landon Donovan was quoted as saying. "Hopefully he does well, my personal hope is that we can sign him and we can work out a way to work out a trade with Chicago," which owns Rogers' MLS rights.

The Galaxy certainly won't be alone in seeking Rogers' services should he return to the league. Seattle Sounders coach Sigi Schmid on Tuesday discussed the possibility of bringing the Californian to the Pacific Northwest.
