The former Real Salt Lake forward is reported to have been reacquired by the franchise Tuesday morning, according to soccer scribe Ives Galarcep of Soccer by Ives. Galarcep reported the Portland Timbers, who owned the rights to Findley after selecting him in the 2011 MLS Expansion Draft, traded those rights to RSL to complete Findley’s potential return to the Wasatch Front.

Galarcep reported that it remains unclear what RSL gave up in the deal to get Findley, but added it is likely either allocation money or an MLS draft pick.

The former RSL forward who was instrumental in the team’s 2009 run toward the MLS Cup spent the last two years playing for Nottingham Forest in the Football League Championship in England. Findley scored 29 goals in four seasons with RSL, including a 12-goal season during the team’s title in 2009. He also started for the U.S. Men’s National Team at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa in a 1-1 tie against England in the first round.

The potential move to reacquire Findley comes more than a month after RSL traded popular names Fabian Espindola and Jamison Olave to the New York Red Bulls as well as Will Johnson to Portland.

The Tribune is currently working on confirming the deal with the club.
