Real Salt Lake has signed defender/midfielder Lovel Palmer, the team’s only selection in the December Re-Entry Draft.
RSL announced Palmer’s signing Thursday. The terms of his contract were not disclosed.
Palmer, 28, made 19 appearances last year for the Portland Timbers. He previously played for the Houston Dynamo.
"Lovel is a versatile player who we’re excited to add to our roster," RSL general manager Garth Lagerwey said in a news release Thursday. "He’s a proven player on both the MLS and international levels and we believe he’ll be a good fit in our system."
Palmer has some international experience, too. He’s earned 24 caps for the Jamaican national team since 2005.
