RSL fans make themselves heard in Colorado

Commerce City, Colo. — As Real Salt Lake and Colorado knocked and battered each other to a 0-0 finale Friday night, in the northeast corner of Dick's Sporting Goods Stadium, a group of RSL supporters, estimated at between 250 and 300 strong, made themselves heard.

At times, the group made more noise than the nearby Rapids supporters.

It only got louder as Javier Morales and Nat Borchers paraded in front of the loud and loyal group with the Rocky Mountain Cup, now RSL's for the fifth consecutive season.

"We take it seriously," said RSL coach Jason Kreis, who believes in claiming every trophy possible. "It means something to them, so it means something to us."

PLAYOFF RACE

With its point, RSL now sits three points in front of Dallas in the race for third place in the MLS Western Division, 52-49.

Dallas plays Vancouver on Saturday and a victory could move it into a tie with RSL.

Should there be a tie at the end of the season, RSL holds the tie break thanks to a win at Rio Tinto Stadium and a tie in Dallas. Salt Lake's first ever point in Dallas could be the key.

Of course, RSL needs to win a week from Saturday when Portland comes to Rio Tinto.
