Hello. With Michael C. Lewis on paternity leave for a while, I will be trying to fill some large shoes. I think he's a 13.

For the first bit of news that RSL fans will gladly embrace, Tuesday, Javier Morales engaged in his first on-field practice with teammates since that horrible injury in May. He wore a yellow bib making everyone aware that he was not to be touched, but the RSL midfielder was pleased and excited to be on the pitch.

"I've worked very hard the last 15 days. I'm starting to feel like a player again," he said. "I'm so very happy.

Morales wasn't feeling any pain from the broken and dislocated ankle. That may come later as he cools down. Otherwise, "I'm happy to be here."

Also, RSL director of public affairs Trey Fitz-Gerald says the team will not change the 7 p.m. game time of Sept. 17's home match against Sporting KC. The game goes head to head with Utah-BYU football in Provo.

"We have 17,000 tickets sold for that game," he said. "[Changing] would create a whole group of issues. Last time we did that [for a Utah Jazz playoff game] we got negative feedback from fans."
