Midfielder Arturo Alvarez joined RSL for the first time at its preseason training camp in Arizona today — that's him in the orange, defending new teammate Tony Beltran — having returned from helping El Salvador qualify for the Gold Cup this summer by finishing fourth in the 2011 Copa Centroamericana.
General manager Garth Lagerwey said via the team's Twitter account that Alvarez was "outstanding" in his first workout with the team, after enjoying a "warm reception" from his new teammates. Alvarez, incidentally, will wear No. 10, after it was vacated by departed forward Robbie Findley. Oh, and thanks to the RSL Communications staff for the photo!
