Basketball: Davis County-based Utah Hoops 16-Under team wins tournament in Colorado

The Davis County-based Utah Hoops Under-16 team won the inaugural Best Buy Mile High Classic near Denver over the weekend, beating nationally ranked Minnesota Pump-N-Run 60-58 in the championship game at Lakewood, Colo.
The Utah Hoops teams is comprised of Bountiful's Trevor Lloyd, Sam Merrill, Zac Seljaas, Pere Le Sueur and Jordan Bleak; Davis High's Abel Porter, Roy's Brekkott Chapman, Layton's Michael Hibbert and Woods Cross High's Luke Jowers.
Utah Hoops went undefeated at the tournament, defeating Colorado Chaos Elite in the semifinals.

Chapman and Merrill were also singled out by Hoopniks for their outstanding play during the tournament.
