Bingham High continues to pump out loads of Division I football prospects.
The latest Bingham football star to receive D-I interest is sophomore tight end Dalton Schultz.
Bingham coach Dave Peck said Schultz received offers from California and Colorado on Thursday.
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Schultz is visiting Stanford today (April 6) and has said that Stanford would be at the top of his favorites list if the Cardinal make an offer. Schultz carries a 3.9 grade point average.
He now has offers from three Pac-12 schools because Utah offered him last September. Schultz will be a senior this fall at Bingham.
Two weeks ago, Schultz played for the Utah team that went 8-0 and won the 42-team NLA Elite 7-on-7 tournament in Las Vegas. Schultz was named to the All-underclassmen team and was the most outstanding tight end.
Meanwhile, offers continue to pour in for other Bingham High stars. Miners' offensive lineman Keegan Hicks, a 6-3, 290-pounder, has already committed to BYU. Hicks will be a senior this fall. He committed to BYU during a recent Junior Day at the school.
Another Miner, rising senior Lowell Lotulelei, is considered the best defensive lineman in the state and one of the top five in the West. The 6-3, 280-pound prospect will have offers from most of the top schools in the West before the summer is over, Peck believes.
The coach said two or three other members of the class of 2013 from Bingham will also get D-I offers shortly.
