PG's Brandon Fanaika chooses Stanford

The state's No. 1 football recruit is leaving Utah.
Pleasant Grove offensive lineman Brandon Fanaika committed to Stanford Wednesday night during the Offense-Defense All-America Bowl at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas.
Fanaika had about a dozen offers from major programs, including each of the three in-state programs. Rivals rated Fanaika the state's top prospect. While Davis defensive end Troy Hinds (BYU) and Lone Peak quarterback Chase Hansen (Utah) garnered the most in-state attention, Fanaika quietly was becoming a highly sought commodity.
Fanaika was recruited to Stanford by Cardinal assistant Lance Anderson, a former Utah State coach.
