Olympus captured a narrow two-point lead over Sky View and defending champion Timpview Thursday in the first day of the Class 4A girls tennis championship Thursday at Liberty Park.

Teams played the first two rounds, with finals scheduled Saturday along with Class 5A and Class 3A.

The Titans led Sky View and Timpview 8-6 with Bountiful and Corner Canyon recording five points.

In the No. 1 singles, unbeaten Murray freshman Sid Lavatai turned in the most impressive performance, winning her first two round matches without losing a match. She will meet region Five champion Hannah Jones of Bonneville in the semifinals.

In the other bracket of No. 1 singles, Region Six champion Jasmine Rich of East will meet Kaitlin Slade of Sky View in the semifinals.
