MaxPreps in conjunction with two national coaching associations have honored two Utah athletes with player of the week awards.
The American Volleyball Coaches Association named Pleasant Grove's Jeniel Briggs as one of its players of the week. She has 81 assists, 12 digs and three blocks in leading the Vikings to a 16-6 overall record and a 6-0 league mark thus far this season.
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America gave a smilar honor to Allissa Anderson of American Leadership Academy. Anderson has 28 points and 14 goals this season.
