Lehi • Last season, Lehi's Caden Calton became one of Utah's leading prep rushers under the run-oriented offense of former Pioneer coach David Hastings.
According to maxpreps.com, the 5-foot-7 back ran for 1,950 yards and 24 touchdowns.
But things have changed this season on the sidelines at the 5A school in Utah County. Ed Larson has moved from Timpanogos to Lehi and brings a pass-oriented attack with him.
Calton, a senior, said that he looks forward to the new look offense and expects to have another successful season. The big change is that he might be catching a few more passes out of the backfield this fall.
"I've got a lot of confidence in our offense," the running back said as Larson introduced Calton and linemen Brackin Stringam and Dustin Tafoya at a small media gathering in Lehi.
Larson expects Region 4 to be strong this season with American Fork, Herriman, Lone Peak, Pleasant Grove and Westlake all looking good going into the season.
