Team Utah features two players who never suited up in the state

Two interesting names appear on Team Utah’s roster for Saturday’s Tanoa Bowl Classic in Auburn, Wash.

Team Utah will face Team Washington at 6:30 p.m. in a game that pits some of the top prep talent from the states against each other.

Team Utah features players like Timpview’s Dax Raymond, who has an offer from Utah State, Jordan offensive lineman B.J. Cavender and Timpview’s Jake Lloyd.

But there were two players who garnered a lot of attention this season without ever playing a down in Utah — Dynamite-Jones Faagata and Cliff Betson. They are the students who transferred from California to Jordan but failed to get cleared to play by the Utah High School Activities Association. They went as far as going to court to get an opportunity to compete but failed in their bid.

In case you’re wondering, Jordan coach Eric Kjar is one of the Team Utah coaches. You can check out the entire Team Utah roster at: http://tanoabowl.com/2012/12/26/utah-roster/
