On Thursday night, Lone Peak got a great effort from senior back-up quarterback Braden Miles, who came into the game with only 16 minutes remaining and was the catalyst in a 21-17 win over Bingham. Miles finished the night 14-for-16 with 167 yards and two touchdowns despite only playing a bit more than the fourth quarter.
Take a minute to appreciate Miles' situation: He started the first game of the year, but since then he's been the back-up for Baron Gajkowski, who moved into Lone Peak boundaries this year. Before that, he was the back-up for now-Utes player Chase Hansen, who also transferred into the school.
On Thursday, Gajkowski was showing some ill effects from a weeklong struggle with bronchitis, throwing four interceptions. After a hit that knocked the junior out of the game, Miles came in and was ready to go.
