Bingham had two high-profile baseball players last year — both were taken in the MLB Draft this June — and there appears to be another ballplayer in the Class of 2013 who has been deemed a high-level recruit.

Brennon Lund, an outfielder and first baseman for the Miners, has been listed among Perfect Game's top uncommitted prospects. Of course, that's somewhat misleading, given that Lund has committed to BYU, according to Bingham coach Joe Sato.

Lund is described as one of the faster prospects in the country, with great throwing power in the 91-94 mph range. Back in June, ESPNHS marked the Bingham baller as one of the standouts in the Cincinnati Reds Area Code Team tryouts.

Lund pitched for Bingham last year, accruing a 3-1 record, and hit six doubles, two triples and one homer at the plate. This spring, he'll likely be considered the team's top player. The Mountain West Baseball Academy lists him as the No. 4 player in Utah in the 2013 class, behind SLCC's Brady Corless (formerly of Spanish Fork), Riverton's Tanner Draper and Davis' Bronson Larsen.

• The big football game this week is between Jordan and St. John Bosco of California. Rivals High decided the Beetdiggers' 56-0 win was worth bumping them up one spot to No. 50 — thus preserving a match-up of two top-50 teams. (!) Maxpreps.com held steady with a No. 75 ranking nationally, and that could quickly rise with a win this week Though the Braves took a hit to their record this week when they had to forfeit their wins, they'll still have a No. 30 ranking in Rvials and a No. 27 ranking in Maxpreps.

The other game also has some rankings implications: Don Bosco is back in the mix in both polls, settling at No. 21 in Maxpreps and No. 69 in Rivals. Alta is listed at No. 115 in Maxpreps, unranked in Rivals, so a win could do a lot to boost the Hawks' national profile.

Syracuse is Maxpreps' No. 2 Utah at No. 102 nationally. If the Titans beat rival Northridge, they could crack the top 100.

• Milesplit.com produced some new girls' cross country rankings yesterday, and Davis is listed as the No. 12 ranked team in the country. American Fork, Park City and Ogden are listed as honorable mention schools. The site also has individual rankings: Davis runners Shea Martinez and Ellie Child are listed, as well as Bingham's Emily Rich, Herriman's Lucy Biles, and Ogden's Sarah Feeny.
