Plans set for town hall meeting on UEP trust

It sounds like the date, time and location for the town hall meeting on the United Effort Plan trust has been finalized.

It will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30 at El Capitan School at 255 N. Cottonwood Street in Colorado City, Ariz. It’s for people who are affected by the recent appeals court ruling keeping the trust, which was once run by Warren Jeffs, under state control.

That means people who live in and around the border community of Colorado City and Hildale, Utah, particularly current and former members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

The meeting will be hosted by Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff, who instigated the takeover some seven years ago.

It’ll be interesting to see if any active followers of Jeffs show up. I think there might be a few in the background, but who knows.

I’ll be there!
