Canada still looking at polygamous sect human trafficking allegations

Following the ruling upholding the Canadian law banning polygamy, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are set to go to Texas in a couple weeks. They're investigating the possible trafficking of 12 and 13-year-old girls taken across the Canadian border to marry Warren Jeffs,
according to this story in the San Angelo Standard-Times. They've been investigating the information
since February, when the Texas Rangers first sent over evidence of the marriages as part of the case weighing the legality of the polygamy ban.
I wonder why the Mounties are just now going to Texas, 10 months later. You wouldn't think they needed to wait for the polygamy-ban decision, since these allegations aren't really about polygamy.
If girls were brought over the border for underage sex, that's human trafficking and statutory rape, not plural marriage.
It'll be interesting to see how the trip goes.
