During and after spring football practice, Colorado's quarterback competition quickly dissolved from three players to one.
The Buffaloes are left with Connor Wood as the presumptive starter, following Jordan Webb's season-ending knee injury and Nick Hirschman's announcement that he's transferring.
Colorado also will have redshirt freshman Shane Dillon and incoming freshman Seto Liufau at the position.
Hirschman intends to transfer and play in 2013 as a graduate student, possibly at an Ivy league school, coach Mike MacIntyre said.
So Hirschman's final appearance as a Buff was the 2012 season finale against Utah. He completed 30 of 51 passes for 306 passes and one touchdown, but was intercepted four times in a 42-35 loss at Folsom Field in Boulder. The Utes had intercepted only four passes in their previous 11 games.
