Pac-12: Cal loses experienced QB

Having determined his future after four spring practices, quarterback Allan Bridgford will transfer from California as a fifth-year senior.
Bridgford, by far the Bears' most experienced QB, said Monday in a school news release that he was recruited to play in former coach Jeff Tedford's pro-style offense and did not fit into the spread scheme of new coach Sonny Dykes and offensive coordinator Tony Franklin.
Bridgford, who started three games for Cal, intends to graduate from the school this summer. He also hopes to be granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA, giving him two seasons in his new program.
Cal's depth chart lists three co-No. 1 quarterbacks, in alphabetical order: freshman Jared Goff, junior Austin Hinder and redshirt freshman Zach Kline. </
