Utah's GOP elite upset with Lee. Mitt Romney's secret room. The Capitol Dome gets a face lift.
Happy Wednesday. There was a Twitter troll in the White House. Jofi Joseph was fired after it was discovered he used the Twitter handle @natsecwonk to criticize his bosses and leak administration documents. Here's just a taste of his now defunct Twitter account:
"I'm a fan of Obama, but his continuing reliance and dependence upon a vacuous cipher like Valerie Jarrett concerns me." [DailyBeast]
Topping the news: The Washington Post comes to Salt Lake to explore why Sen. Mike Lee's approval rating dropped after his plan to defund Obamacare helped lead to the shutdown and they got this quote from former Gov. Jon Huntsman: "You don’t have ideological wack-jobs. For all of its labeling as a red state, underneath it all Utah is a pretty pragmatic Western state, a just-get-it-done ethos." [WaPost]
-> Sen. Orrin Hatch said Lee and other tea partiers need to rehabilitate themselves to consider being re-elected. Hatch declined to endorse Lee at this time, but said he likes that Lee has guts to stand up to the Senate. [DNews]
-> We poked around the architectural drawings of the home Mitt Romney plans to build in Holladay and found his hidden door. [Trib]
Tweets of the day: From @RexHuppke: "On the new iPad Air, the Obamacare website crashes four times as fast!"
