Tagg Romney: Boston bomber 'messed with the wrong people.' SL Marathon full steam ahead. Senate takes up gun amendments today.

Happy Wednesday. Tagg Romney, a Bostonian, said in an interview that the Boston bomber "messed with the wrong people" and added that it was a "cowardly act." The son of Mitt Romney who has been rumored to be considering running for office himself, was just getting into a cab at Fenway Park when the tragedy struck the Boston marathon. [CNN]

Topping the news: In the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings, Salt Lake City's own marathon is still slated to go forward this Saturday, although with a heightened police presence. [Trib] [DNews]

-> The Senate today will take up nine amendments to the gun-control legislation its now debating, though each proposed change to the measure will have to get 60 votes. [Politico]
