> Sen. Orrin Hatch laid into President Barack Obama on Wednesday, arguing the administration's goal is not to lower energy prices but the "liberal dream" of weaning America off oil.

The Utah Republican, in a speech on the Senate floor, derided the Obama administration for resisting GOP attempts to lower gas prices - such as allowing drilling in the Alaska Natural Wildlife Refuge and allowing the proposed Keystone Pipeline to be built. Hatch noted that the president's policies are fracturing members of his own party.

"They know that the president is putting the preferred lifestyle policies of wealthy urbanites ahead of the needs of blue collar and union workers, and middle class Americans," Hatch said.

"President Obama has traded in the hard hat and lunch bucket legacy of the Democratic Party for a hipster fedora and a double skim latte."

For the record, I walked outside here in the Democratic stronghold of Washington and didn't see a single fedora-wearing, hipster-looking liberal sipping on a double-skim latte. When I find one, I'll see if he or she wants to respond.
