Former Utah governor, outgoing U.S. ambassador and potential future presidential candidate Jon Huntsman Jr. has scheduled a second big speech in a key primary election state.

Huntsman, who has resigned as America's envoy to China effective at the end of the month, will offer the commencement address for the arts, sciences and honors colleges at the University of South Carolina in Columbia on May 7, according to The Associated Press. The New Hampshire Union-Leader previously reported that Huntsman will also speak at the Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester on May 21.

Both states offer the first primary test of Republican presidential candidates.

Fox News is planning a debate on May 5 in Greenville, S.C., but a source close to Huntsman's campaign-in-waiting says it's highly unlikely Huntsman would participate in that debate, though final decisions will have to wait until the former Utah governor returns.
