Czech Republic’s Martin Vrablik competes in the men’s downhill race at Rosa Khutor Alpine Center during the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games on Sunday. Vrablik finished in 35th place with a time of 2 minutes, 11.73 seconds.
I made this picture after all of the Americans, who are our primary focus during the Olympics, were finished with their runs. I had nice, sharp story-telling pictures of the Americans racing, but I wanted to try some more experimental techniques for the rest of the competitors. So I slowed down the shutter speed and panned along as the skiers raced by my position near the finish line. I like the sense of motion and color of this picture.
