Robert Redford will need to make room in his trophy case for another lifetime-achievement award.

This time, it's the International Documentary Association, which will give Redford its Career Achievement Award at its annual ceremony on Dec. 5, according to IndieWire.

Redford is known for his support of documentary film. He has narrated and produced documentaries (notably "Incident at Oglala," about the Leonard Peltier case). He recently launched Sundance Productions, which has produced "Chicagoland" and "Death Row Stories" for CNN. And his Sundance Institute, and the Sundance Film Festival, has been a launchpad for hundreds of documentary films over the last 30-plus years.
