Neon Trees is returning to Provo this weekend — and everyone's invited to the homecoming party.

The chart-topping rock band has been added to the Rooftop Concert Series show in Provo, Friday night at 7 p.m. on Provo's Center Street at the corner of University Avenue. The show is free.

Two other Provo bands — The Blue Aces and Fictionist — were already on the bill. Neon Trees' addition was announced by the band's frontman, Tyler Glen, in a phone call to X96's "Radio From Hell" show this morning. (The band headlined last Saturday's X96 Big Ass Show in Salt Lake City, and many hearty fans braved daylong rains to hear them.)

Provo is also throwing a Shop & Meet event downtown from 5 to 8 p.m.

Anyone going to hear Neon Trees should be advised that there's also a football game Friday night in Provo: Brigham Young University will play host to upstate rival Utah State, starting at 8:15 p.m. Traffic in Provo, and on the interstate leading to the city (with all those fans driving down from Logan), is likely to be intense.
