• The 158th annual Utah State Fair concludes this weekend at the Utah State Fairpark, 1000 W. North Temple, Salt Lake City. Hours are 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. this weekend. Tonight's Grandstand show: '70s rock band Grand Funk Railroad at 7:30 p.m. (concert tickets are $25, and include fair admission). Saturday's Grandstand show: Disney Channel star Zendaya (concert tickets are $22 in advance, $27 on the day of the show, and include fair admission). Sunday's Grandstand show: Mexican acts Conjunto Primavera and Los Hermanos Vega Jr. (concert tickets are $25 in advance, $30 on the day of the show, and include fair admission). General-admission tickets are $10 for teens and adults, $7 for seniors (62 and over) and children (6 to 12), free for children under 5, at the gate. • Classic hard-rock band Great White performs tonight at Barbary Coast Saloon, 4242 S. State St., Murray. Show starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25, at Smith's Tix.
• The Utah Symphony performs Mahler's Symphony No. 1, tonight and Saturday at Abravanel Hall, 123 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Works by Mossolov and Beethoven are also on the program. Thierry Fischer conducts. Show starts at 8 p.m. each night. Tickets available at ArtTix.
• Pop-folk singer/songwriter Mason Jennings performs tonight and Saturday at The State Room, 638 S. State St., Salt Lake City. Lucette will open. Show starts at 8 p.m. each night. Tickets are $30, at the venue's website.

• Pianist Monty Alexander and Harlem-Kingston Express perform Jamaican-flavored jazz, Saturday at the Capitol Theatre, 50 W. 200 South, Salt Lake City. The show, the launch of JazzSLC's 21st season, starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $29.50, via ArtTix.
