Plans for tonight: Beach Boys at the Fair

• The 158th annual Utah State Fair continues this weekend at the Utah State Fairpark, 1000 W. North Temple, Salt Lake City. Today's hours are 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tonight's Grandstand show: The Beach Boys at 7:30 (concert tickets are $29, and include fair admission). General-admission tickets are $10 for teens and adults, $7 for seniors (62 and over) and children (6 to 12), free for children under 5, at the gate. (Discount tickets available as Smith's Food and Drug stores.)

• Canadian punk band Single Mothers performs at Kilby Court, 741 S. Kilby Court (330 West), Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Wearing Thin, Alexander Ortega. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $10, at 24Tix.
