Plans for tonight: Jason Isbell, flying solo
• Southern rock songwriter/guitarist Jason Isbell, former member of Drive-By Truckers, performs solo at Red Butte Garden, 300 Wakara Way, University of Utah campus, Salt Lake City. Opening act: The Lone Bellow. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $35 (general), at the Red Butte website.
• A screening of the documentary "Vessel" — about the work of Rebecca Gomperts, who sails the world offering health services at sea to women with no legal alternative — is set for the City Library, 210 E. 400 South, Salt Lake City. The film's director, Diana Whitten, will be in attendance for a post-screening Q-and-A session. Presented by the Utah Film Center. Free.
