The Provo band VanLadyLove went to New York this week and came home with prestigious award and some major prizes.

The five-member alt-pop/rock band was the winner of the Artist on the Verge award at the New Music Seminar, a three-day event that ended Tuesday in New York.

The Artist on the Verge program (or AOV) picks 100 artists, who get exposure to media, tech and music industry executives. The three top finalists are selected to perform at the AOV Showcase.

VanLadyLove receives a prize package estimated to be worth $100,000. It includes new musical gear, consultations with industry experts, a 30-minute showcase with a major talent agency, and more services.
