One of America’s most sharp-tongued, stout-hearted politicians is coming to Salt Lake City — in person and on the big screen.
The Utah Film Center announced today that the Damn These Heels! LGBT Film Festival will open with "Compared to What: The Improbable Journey of Barney Frank," an inside-look documentary at the former Massachusetts congressman and one of the most prominent gay politicians in America.
Directors Sheila Canavan and Michael Chandler will take part in a discussion after the screening. Frank and his husband, Jim Ready, are scheduled to attend.
The festival is set for July 11-13 at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, 138 W. 300 South, Salt Lake City.
Festival passholders and sponsors get priority access to tickets for the opening-night film. A 10-film pass is available for $35, at the festival’s website, now through June 22. After that, the price goes up to $45.
