The Cricket’s Daily 3: Oscar song nomination rescinded

Here’s what’s happening today in pop culture:

• The motion-picture academy has rescinded the Best Original Song nomination for "Alone Yet Not Alone" (from the little-seen movie of the same name) because its composer, Bruce Broughton, sent improper emails to Academy voters.
