Plans for tonight: Lasers and cellos

• Prog-rock instrumental band Trans-Siberian Orchestra brings its holiday show, "The Lost Christmas Eve," to EnergySolutions Arena, 301 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Shows start at 4 and 8 p.m. Tickets for the matinee are $30 to $50; tickets are $39 to $69 for the evening show; at Smith’s Tix.

• Post-hardcore punk band Polar Bear Club performs at Kilby Court, 741 S. Kilby Court (330 West), Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Citizen, Diamond Youth, Sainthood Reps. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $14, at 24Tix.
