Mendler is the star of the Disney Channel series "Good Luck Charlie," playing Teddy, the protective big sister of baby Charlie. She reprised the role in a Disney Channel movie, "Good Luck Charlie: It’s Christmas," which was filmed primarily in Utah.

Her other acting credits include the Disney Channel movie "Lemonade Mouth," a guest role on "House," and a voice in the U.S. release of the Studio Ghibli animated tale "The Secret World of Arrietty."

The 20-year-old Washington, D.C., native is also a singer and songwriter, and recently released an album, "Hello, My Name Is…". The first single on the album is called "Ready or Not."

Tickets for Mendler’s concert are $22 in advance, and $27 on the day of the show. They can be purchased starting Friday, at 10 a.m. by going to the fair’s website, calling 801-538-FAIR (3247) or by going to the Utah State Fair Administration Building (at 1000 W. North Temple).

Tickets are already on sale for rock band 38 Special (playing Tuesday, Sept. 10). Tickets will go on sale soon for country singer Amy Grant (performing Friday, Sept. 6) and the Beach Boys tribute Kahuna Beach Party (playing two shows on Saturday, Sept. 14). The fair runs Sept. 5-15.
