Here's what's happening this weekend in pop culture:

• The band My Chemical Romance is breaking up after 12 years, frontman Gerard Way announced with a long letter on its website. [Rolling Stone, band's website]

• The animated caveman movie "The Croods" cleaned up at the box office this weekend, with $44.7 million. The action vehicle "Olympus Has Fallen" took second with $30.5 million. The romantic comedy "Admission" placed a woeful fifth, with $6.4 million. [Box Office Mojo]
