Here’s what’s happening today in pop culture:
• Baz Luhrmann’s "The Great Gatsby" — starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire as F. Scott Fitzgerald’s indelible characters — will be the opening-night film at the Cannes Film Festival on May 15. That’s five days after the movie opens in the United States, and the same day it opens in France. [The Hollywood Reporter]
