Plans for tonight: English Beat or G.Love?

• Ska-pop veteran band The English Beat performs at The State Room, 638 S. State St., Salt Lake City. Show starts at 8. Tickets are $40, at the venue’s website.

• Alt-hip-hop band G. Love & Special Sauce performs at The Depot, 400 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Opening act: John Fullbright. Show starts at 8:30. Tickets are $25, at Smith’s Tix.
