Plans for tonight: Pastis solves a mystery

• Cartoonist Stephan Pastis ("Pearls Before Swine") reads from and signs copies of his first novel, "Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made," at the Anderson-Foothill Library, 1135 S. 2100 East, Salt Lake City. The event, presented by The King’s English, starts at 6 p.m. The event is free to attend.

• DJ/producer Christian Bauhofer, a k a Minnesota, performs at The Urban Lounge, 241 S. 500 East, Salt Lake City. Show starts at 9. Tickets are $15, at 24Tix.
