• Screamo band Make Me Famous performs at In the Venue, 219 S. 600 West, Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Ice Nine Kills, Issues (featuring Tyler Carter). Show starts at 6. Tickets are $12, at Smith’s Tix.

• Provo author Ally Condie will read from her newest novel, "Reached" (the conclusion of the "Matched" trilogy), at Rowland Hall St. Marks, 843 Lincoln St., Salt Lake City. The event starts at 7. Tickets are free, on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact The King’s English for information.

• The Broadway touring show of "The Addams Family" launches a six-night, eight-show run at the Capitol Theatre, 50 W. 200 South, Salt Lake City. Show starts tonight at 7:30. (It also plays Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m.; Friday at 8 p.m.; Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m.; and Sunday at 1 and 6:30 p.m.) Tickets, from $30 to $65, available at ArtTix.

• Post-rock duo El Ten Eleven performs at The Urban Lounge, 241 S. 500 East, Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Michna, Yourself & The Air. Show starts at 9. Tickets are $10, at 24Tix.
