• Watch the election results in an artistic setting — in Jonathan Horowitz' minimalist installation "Your Land/My Land: Election '12" — at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, 20 S. West Temple, Salt Lake City. Special exhibit hours start at 7 p.m., and run until late. Free.

The Green headlines a reggae show at In the Venue, 219 S. 600 West, Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Natural Vibrations, Billy Van. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $17, at Smith's Tix.

• Fantasy author Brandon Sanderson reads from and signs copies of his book The Emperor's Soul, at Sam Weller's Book Works, 665 E. 600 South, Salt Lake City (inside Trolley Square). The event starts at 7. Free.

• Seattle indie-rock band Minus the Bear performs at The Depot, 400 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Cursive, Girl in a Coma. Show starts at 7:30. Tickets are $22, at Smith's Tix.
