The Cricket's Daily 3: No time for the kids
Published on Oct 9, 2012 07:16AM
Here's what's happening today in pop culture:
• Mitt Romney, who has time for any billionaire waving a fund-raiser at him, couldn't make time in his schedule to appear on Nickelodeon's quadrennial "Kids Pick the President" special. President Obama will appear on the Oct. 15 show. Hey, it's not like kids can vote or anything. [The Hollywood Reporter]
• If Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman, who announced their separation after 30 years of marriage, can't make it work, what hope is there for the rest of us? (Seriously, this is sad news.) [Washington Post]
• CNN is creating its own documentary-film unit, CNN Films, that will commission movies for the news channel and for theatrical distribution. The first two filmmakers signed up are Alex Gibney ("Taxi to the Dark Side") and Andrew Rossi ("Page One: Inside the New York Times"). [Los Angeles Times]
