• The first weekend of the Utah State Fair happens at the Utah State Fairpark, North Temple and 1000 West, Salt Lake City. Grandstand headliners this weekend (at 7:30 p.m. each night) are: Singing trio Wilson Phillips tonight; Christian rockers Jars of Clay on Saturday; and Scottish pop star Sheena Easton on Sunday. (Tickets to Wilson Phillips are $25; Tickets to Jars of Clay and Easton are free with fair admission.) The fair’s hours are 10 a.m.-11 p.m. today and Saturday; 10 a.m.-10 p.m. on Sunday. Fair admission is $10 for adults; $7 for youth (6 to 12) and seniors (65 and older); free for kids 5 and under; available at the gates.
• The Salt Lake Greek Festival runs today through Sunday at the Greek Orthodox Church, 279 S. 300 West, Salt Lake City. Hours are 11 a.m.-11 p.m. today and Saturday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $3, at the door.
